Gibraltar Gardens is a beautiful, historic six-acre estate designed by Marian Cruger Coffin in 1916. This secret garden is nestled in the horticulturally rich Delaware Valley in Wilmington. Colleen came to Gibraltar after completing a year long Educational Internship at Longwood Gardens not far from Gibraltar. She spent three years curating the garden and was directly involved in the massive historical restoration completed in 1999 working directly with Rodney Robinson Landscape Architects and the Historic Garden Committee.. Colleen cared for every horticultural aspect of the garden, created programs and protected the historic integrity of the plantings and vision. She collaborated often with her sister gardens, Winterthur and Longwood.
